Welcome to Beaconsfield Primary School

We would like to welcome you to our active and supportive learning community.

Beaconsfield Primary School was founded in 1883. In 1954 an area school was built which later became the Primary School. In 2010 our redevelopment included two new buildings on the school site, including a Child and Family Centre for use by students, parents and pre-school children from the greater Beaconsfield community. Beaconsfield Primary School serves a wide community encompassing the towns of Beaconsfield, Beauty Point, Clarence Point, Greens Beach and surrounding areas.

It is now a mix of old and new buildings that enjoys attractive and spacious grounds; including a public library, solar heated indoor pool and music room, providing a variety of great learning opportunities for our students and families.

At Beaconsfield Primary School our mission is “Aspire to Rise”. We uphold the values of safety, fairness, learning and caring. These are reflected in our original school motto: Esse Quam Videri and are translated from the Latin as “To be rather than seeming to be” They are particularly reflected in our guiding principles and school expectations which simply state: Be Safe, Be Fair, Learn and Care.
These guiding principles are on display throughout all areas of our school and also form the basis of an explicit teaching program in how children can practically apply these ‘golden rules’ during their time at Beaconsfield Primary. These values also complement the School-wide Positive Behaviour Support approach that we take to managing issues relating to student behaviour and discipline.

  • Successful Learners
  • Confident and Creative Individuals
  • Active and Informed Citizens

The school is highly valued and supported by the community. This is fostered by the use of a joint school and community library, onsite Child and Family Centre (funded by the Federal Government and is located within the school grounds providing day care for 0 to 4 year olds, out of hours care and extensive community and family services), onsite Neighbourhood house, community use of school facilities and increasing opportunities for school participation in community events.

Our team of dedicated and caring staff work hard to ensure that children get the most out of these important years in their education. Individual needs are catered for, with personalised learning being an essential consideration. We pride ourselves as a school on an atmosphere that is friendly, inclusive and a happy place for children to grow and learn.
We believe that every child deserves the best possible start in life and that a high quality, public education can precipitate just that.
