As we approach the end of Term 3, it has been a busy and exciting couple of weeks at Beaconsfield Primary School, filled with learning, competition, and opportunities for our students to shine.
Selected Year 5/6 students enthusiastically participated in the Write a Book in a Day challenge, working collaboratively to plan, draft, and publish their own creative story. Their teamwork, imagination, and persistence throughout the day was inspiring, and we are very proud of their achievement.
Our Chess Club representatives competed in the interschool chess tournament, showcasing not only their strategic thinking but also their resilience and sporting spirit. Thank you to the staff who supported our team and to families for encouraging their involvement.
Congratulations to our selected representatives in Year 5/6 who competed in the Country Gold Carnival this week. This was a fantastic opportunity to represent Beaconsfield Primary on a broader stage, and we applaud their commitment, effort, and teamwork.
Our Year 6 students have begun their transition visits to Exeter High School. These visits provide a valuable opportunity to experience high school life and help prepare for a smooth and confident start in 2026. These students will have a full Orientation Day in November – more information will be provided closer to the date.
Over the past two weeks, Prep-Year 6 students have sharpened their skills in Hockey Tasmania clinics during HPE. With guidance from specialist coaches, students learned dribbling, passing, and game techniques – and had a lot of fun doing so!
Tomorrow we celebrate Sports Colours Day with great energy and community spirit. Students will proudly wear their favourite team colours, raising awareness and funds for important causes, while also strengthening our school’s sense of connection.
As Term 3 concludes, I would like to thank our students, staff, and families for their continued efforts and commitment. It has been a term full of learning, growth, and community connection.
I wish all families a safe and happy holiday break. We look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed and ready for an exciting Term 4.

Class Placements 2026
Planning for 2026 class placements will commence early in Term 4. While the school does not take requests for particular teachers or to be placed with specific friends, we do value information from families that helps us create balanced classes which consider the academic, social, and emotional needs of every student.
Parents and carers are invited to provide input in writing by Friday 17 October 2025. Please send any information to:
Thank you for your support in helping us ensure the best learning environment for all students.

The Primary Schools Triathlon is on Friday 21 November 2025 for students in Years 3-6. The event is held in Devonport at the Bluff.
The Schools Triathlon Challenge is a well organised event that focuses on participation and fun. The event has two categories to enter - individual and teams’ event. The team event is like a relay with a swim, ride, and run leg with three students making up the team to compete in each leg. Or students can participate as an individual completing all three legs on their own.
As in previous years, Beaconsfield Primary will support students on the day and provide a teacher to help supervise and get students ready for their events, however, we won’t be able to transport students to or from the event due to the complexities with transporting bikes etc. Parents/carers will need to arrange transport for students.
Entry forms have been distributed to students who have shown an interest in participating.
Enrolments for 2026 Kindergarten are now open! If you have a child (or know of a child in our local area) who turns 4 before the 1 January 2026 (born in 2021), please contact our school office to collect an enrolment form.
Proof of your child’s birth, immunisation records, evidence of residential address and parent/carer identification will be required as part of the enrolment process.
You are welcome to join our Launching into Learning and/or Pre-Kinder Programs over the coming months to help further prepare your child for Kindergarten in the new year.
