Principal’s Report
As we wrap up Term 2, we would like to extend a thank you to all families who attended our recent Family Partnership Meetings. We are pleased to share that approximately 80% of families made an appointment with their child’s teacher. These meetings are a valuable opportunity to celebrate student learning, reflect on progress, and collaboratively set new goals for the remainder of the year. Our staff genuinely value the chance to connect with families and appreciate your ongoing support.
We are also pleased to share that NAPLAN data has arrived, and our school community has much to celebrate. Our Year 5 students achieved results above Tasmanian schools in all five domains: Numeracy, Reading, Writing, Spelling, and Grammar & Punctuation. Impressively, they also scored above the Australian average in three out of five domains and demonstrated strong individual learning growth across the board.
Meanwhile, Year 3 students performed above similar schools in Numeracy and Writing, reflecting the impact of our teaching and learning strategies.
Individual student reports will be distributed at the beginning of Term 3. If you have any questions or would like support in unpacking your child’s results, please don’t hesitate to speak with their teacher.
Finally, we wish all our students, families, and staff a safe, happy, and restful mid-year holiday break. We look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed and ready for an exciting Term 3.

Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Installation
We are pleased to inform our school community that an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) has been installed outside the school administration building and another device is also located outside the entry to the Child and Family Learning Centre for emergency use. This life-saving device is accessible at all times and is intended to support anyone experiencing a sudden cardiac emergency.
The AED is stored in a clearly marked, wall-mounted cabinet that is equipped with an audible alarm. The alarm will sound when the cabinet door is opened and will stop once the door is securely closed. This feature helps ensure the AED is accessed only in genuine emergencies.
We encourage families to speak with their children about the purpose of the AED. While it is not something to be played with, it is an important piece of emergency equipment that can save lives.
Thank you for helping us keep our school and wider community safe.
