It has been wonderful to see many families meeting with their child’s class teacher to share and celebrate their child’s learning progress. These conversations are very valuable and provide opportunities to discuss future foci to continue to support learning through a three-way partnership between home, school and the student.
If you haven’t already made an appointment to discuss your child’s report, please do so by clicking the link below or contacting the school office.
A reminder to parents/carers to please provide a note to your child’s class teacher if they need to be collected during the school day. Students will be reminded to go to the office and wait for collection. We would like to minimise the disruptions to learning time caused by requests through the office during the day.
TPSSA Cross Country Carnival
In fabulous conditions for running, Beaconsfield Primary hosted the TPSSA Cross Country Carnival. It was great to see a full team of runners from Year 3-6. Students put in their best effort, and some were rewarded with some top results. Well done to Ellie for winning the Year 3 Girls event and to Carley and Millie in Year 4 finishing 2nd and 3rd respectively. Best wishes to students who will also compete next week at the All Schools Championship at Symmons Plains.
Thank you to The Lions Club who operated the BBQ on the day supported by Dannielle Murfet and Toni Sheppard from the School Association. This was well accessed and positively received by spectators and other travelling schools.
Winter Sport Year 4-6
We hosted our first practice match of Winter Sport against Exeter Primary last Friday. We had teams in Football, Hockey, Netball, and Soccer. Games were played in good spirit with lots of opportunities for learning during these matches. Thank you to parents and friends who came along to cheer on our young people. We travel to Lilydale on 30 June for our first round.
Swimming in PE
It has been wonderful to see the enthusiasm and excitement from students as they have been participating in swimming lessons during their PE times. Students have been well prepared, bringing along their gear and are prompt to get changed to make the most of their time in the water. The water has consistently been at 30 degrees with the heat pumps operating in the change rooms to ensure students are warm. The focus of lessons has varied to cater for students’ ability levels, some students are enjoying becoming familiar with the water whilst others are developing their strokes and lap swimming.
Excursions
There have been several excursions in the last few weeks with visits to Hagley Farm School, Tasmania Zoo, Bass and Flinders Centre and the Pilot Station at Low Head. These opportunities all provide connections to the curriculum being taught and enrich the learning. Thank you to staff and parents who have assisted on recent trips.
