Our School and Community

Beaconsfield Primary School serves a wide community encompassing the towns of Beaconsfield and Beauty Point and surrounding areas. The school is highly valued and supported by the community. This is fostered by the use of a joint school and community library, community use of school facilities and increasing opportunities for school participation in community events.

Facilities

The original school was founded in 1883. In 1954 an area school was built which later became the Primary School. It is now a mix of old and new buildings that enjoys attractive and spacious grounds. A community library, solar heated, covered pool, art room and ICT Lab provide a variety of learning opportunities.
The Beauty Point Kindergarten campus has been developed as an Early Learning Centre. The Beaconsfield Child and Family Centre, funded by the Federal Government, is located within the school grounds providing long day care for 0 to 4 year olds, out of hours care and extensive community and family services.

Teaching and Learning

The formation of teaching teams has facilitated co-operative planning, teacher learning and the development of the school as a learning community. The school is in its third year of involvement in the School Wide Positive Behaviour Support Program which is underpinned by our school expectations of “Be Safe, Be Fair, Learn and Care”.
At Beaconsfield we aim to provide a learning program that meets the needs of each individual learner through our commitment to personalised learning.
Our school vision is to provide a safe and secure learning environment where each child is supported to develop their skills in literacy, numeracy and social responsibility and achieve their full potential as lifelong learners.
